Rates include transport services only. The trips will take place only if we reach a minimum of 35 partecipants for each one.

Cost: 35 euro – per person for each trip.

For those who require it, kosher food will be available for both the tours.

The minimum number required to make the two excursions planned at the beginning and at the end of Ravenna EAJS conference has been reached, and it is now possible to publish here provisional details, whicare as follows: 

Excursion to Venice.

 Departure by bus to Venice from Ravenna at 6.30 am on Sunday 25 July, arriving Venice c. 9.30 am. Visits in Venice to the Jewish Ghetto, synagogues, Jewish museum,  Piazza San Marco, etc. Return bus departs Venice at 2 pm, arriving in Ravenna by 5 pm to allow participants to be ready to attend the opening ceremony of the Congress at 7 pm. 

Excursion to Ancona.

 The second tour will visit Jewish Ancona and, on the return journey, the nice village of Bertinoro, the birthplace of Obadiah. Travel to Ancona will be rather brief (about two hours), so if none of those who has registered for this tour wishes to attend the last session of the Congress on Thursday 29 July (from 10 am to 12 noon) ,  the bus will depart from Ravenna at 10 am on that day, arriving in Ancona at 12 noon. Visits in Ancona to the wonderful Jewish cemetery Cardeto, a hill that slopes down to the Adriatic sea with many beautiful burial stones and cylindrical pillars with epitaphs in Hebrew, and then to the synagogue and to view Jewish manuscripts and objects kept in the Municipal Library in the town. Bus departs Ancona at about 5 pm,  arriving Bertinoro at c. 6 pm.  In Bertinoro visits to the tombstone and the inscription that recalls Obadiah, the commentator of the Mishnah, and the unique inter-religious museum of the three monotheistic religions in the Fortress of Bertinoro which tries to publicise and appreciate the values of the three faiths which call Abraham 'father' with the aim of inculcating reciprocal respect and tolerance. Dinner in Bertinoro, with return to  Ravenna by  c. 9 pm.
